Two versions are available. The standard model is designed for music recording, providing two-channel stereo mixdown and monitoring. GALILEO POST includes additional equipment for multi-format monitoring of up to eight channels of audio and is more suited to film and broadcast post-production work. If required the standard console can be upgraded to GALILEO POST specifications. Audio circuitry is of the highest calibre. The microphone amplifier was designed by Mr.Rupert Neve and is similar to that used in the 9098 product range. The equaliser is a development of the world-famous Amek 4-band parametric which gives stunning results. Mutes and the A/B monitor switching employ "soft" ramping circuitry to provide smooth, glitchless cuts. Extended frequency response has been maintained with 3dB points at 10Hz and 150Hz or higher. Distortion products are exceptionally low and thus the entire console is extremely uncoloured and transparent. GALILEO has extensive automation using the optional Amek SUPERMOVE Moving Faders or the standard SUPERTRUE VCA-based system. In either package, faders and a large number of channel switches on both signal paths are automated. An automation controlled Solo system is also provided. Various signal flows, such as the auxiliary bus setup, are configured from the computer and may be saved with the automation data. Amek's revolutionary VIRTUAL DYNAMICS is an integral part of the GALILEO automation system. VIRTUAL DYNAMICS provides digital control of the gain envelope on the channel fader VCA. It is not a digital system in itself, but a method of generating very precise control data using the computer. This confers a number of advantages over conventional hardware devices. GALILEO is the ideal console for a broad range of audio production applications. It combines proven architecture, circuitry and automation and yet, unlike some competing products, is a completely modern design and not a rehash of 80's technology. It is a product of the first degree which will more than justify your investment |
