The HD-15 (stereo 2/3 octave) and HD-31 (1/3 octave) High Definition equalizers are professional quality, low noise units designed for use in sophisticated recording and sound reinforcement applications. Reliable and rugged units, the HD Series is the product of 10 years of research and development.The HD Series offers the best in electronic components housed in an 18 gauge steel chassis for the ultimate in shielding and component protection. While exceptional design and automated assembly keep these equalizers competitively priced, A R T always offers the features one would expect in a professional unit. Faders are center-detented, sixty millimeter, high resolution type. All faders are equipped with large fader knobs. Signal Present/Clip, Power and Active/Bypass status LED's are employed for user c onvenience.The most innovative feature of the HD Series equalizers is perhaps the accuracy of the filter networks. Featuring constant Q active combining circuitry, there is virtually no center-point frequency drift regardless of the position of adjacent filter settings. The HD Series offers a new level of precision equalization and may be the most transparent and accurate equalizers available.From major rock & roll albums and tours to church installations, A R T HD Series equalizers have become the industry standard.HD-15 Architect's and Engineer's SpecificationsThe 2/3 octave equalizer shall be a 2 channel, professional unit for tailoring sound system frequency response to room acoustics. Each channel shall consist of 15 constant Q active combining filters centered on the ISO preferred frequencies from 20 Hz to 20kHz. The equalizer will allow 15 dB of attenuation or gain at each frequency with a master level control which will allow 15 dB of attenuation or gain. There shall be a switchable high pass filter set at 20 Hz, and it shall have an attenuation slope of 1 8 dB per octave. There shall also be a switchable low pass filter set at 20 kHz and have an attenuation slope of 18 dB per octave. The unit shall meet or exceed the following specifications: THD shall be less than 0.005% at +15 dBm from 20 Hz to 20 kHz; equivalent input noise shall be -95 dBm; dynamic range shall be 118 dB; frequency response shall be 10 Hz to 50 kHz, +0 dB, -0.5 dB; the input shall be electronically balanced and have an input impedance of 10,000 Ohms (balanced); the unit will accept input signals up to +24 dBm into a load of 600 ohms. There will be an LED that lights green whenever the output signal is greater than -32 dBm, and that LED will turn red when output signal reaches +17 dBm. The unit shall use 60 millimeter slidepotentiometers arranged to give a graphic display of the frequency plotted against level. The slide potentiometer shall feature a center detent at the unity gain position. There shall be a switch to enable or disable the circuitry for each channel with an LED that light s red when that channel is active. The channel shall be bypassed with a relay in the audio path. The unit (both channels) will automatically be bypassed when power is removed. There will be a power switch on the front of the unit and an LED that lights red when power is applied. Signal input and output will be made on the rear of the unit via barrier strip, 1/4" Tip/Ring/Sleeve jacks with a provision for optional 3 pin XLR connectors. The unit shall run off 120 volts AC plus or minus 10% at 50 to 60 Hz. Th e unit shall be 19" wide, 3.5" high, 6.25" deep, and weigh 8 lb., 10 oz. The unit shall be proudly manufactured in the United States of America, and shall be the ART model 340, HD-15 Graphic Equalizer.
